With Trump in attendance, Obama used the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner to mock the reality TV star’s presidential ambitions. The president said Trump has shown the acumen of a future president, from firing Gary Busey on a recent episode of “Celebrity Apprentice” to focusing so much time on conspiracy theories about Obama’s birthplace.
After a week when Obama released his long-form Hawaii birth certificate, he said Trump could now focus on the serious issues, from whether the moon landing actually happened to “where are Biggie and Tupac?”
“No one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than ‘the Donald,’” Obama said, referring to Trump’s claims the same day that he was responsible for solving the issue.
The military team that killed Osama Bin Laden is an elite special forces group unofficially called Seal Team 6.
The members of Team 6 are at the highest level of classification. There are no names available for current Team 6 members, but the CIA does recruit heavily from their numbers for their Special Operations Group, so it makes sense that they were chosen to work with the CIA on special missions. Team 6 is normally devoted to missions with maritime authority: ship rescues, oil rigs, naval bases or land bases accessible by water.
In the early morning of May 2, 2011 local time, a team of 40 CIA-led Navy SEALs, 24 on the ground, successfully completed an operation to kill Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan about 35 miles (56 km) from Islamabad, the country’s capital. The Navy SEALs were part of the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, previously called “Team 6″.

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York and 9/11 “expert” took to the airwaves this week, joining Republicans in taking cheap political shots at President Obama in the wake of a failed Christmas-day plot to blow up a plane. But Giuliani has gone beyond partisan attacks and has entered a bizarro realm of outright lies and hackery. And worse, supposedly “real” journalists have allowed Giuliani to make his false statements on television completely unchallenged. He appeared on CNN this week, falsely claiming Richard Reid’s shoe-bomb attempt, which occurred on December 22, 2001, happened before the 9/11 terrorist attack. And just this morning, the former NY mayor was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America, falsely saying that “We had no domestic attacks under Bush. We’ve had one under Obama.” Did the former Clinton staffer correct Giuliani’s confusion? No.
Some Republican congressional leaders apparently had no idea GOP Chairman Michael Steele had written a book about the party’s future, until they saw him on TV promoting it.
One aide tells The Washington Post: “No one in the House or Senate leadership knew he had a book contract.” Another said Steele is freelancing. The chairman has also taken fire for accepting speaking fees, and for some of his public comments.
Today Steele said on ABC News Radio he’s had enough: “If you don’t want me in the job — fire me. But until then — shut up.”
